Flávio works more contemporary music and the living relationship between composer and performer and has developed a sensitive and inquisitive approach that combines technical precision, aesthetic curiosity, and sound exploration, in both acoustic and electronic contexts. He has participated in the premiere of several works, actively collaborating with composers in the creation and development of new repertoires, and has presented projects that integrate music, dance, theater, and interdisciplinary performance. In parallel to his activity as a soloist and chamber musician, he regularly collaborates with orchestras and ensembles, while also maintaining a strong pedagogical and artistic involvement in Portugal and the Netherlands.
